French Knitter | French Knitting Doll

Some crafts stick around for generations because they are simple, satisfying and surprisingly hard to put down.

The French Knitting Doll was one of the first craft activities our own girls got hooked on, spending hours turning their knitting into tiny doll scarves, colourful flowers, butterflies and all sorts of little creations.

It is a lovely first step into yarn crafts because children can concentrate on the repetitive making process without needing to tackle traditional knitting needles. As the cord grows, so do the possibilities for what they can turn it into.

Small enough to pull out on rainy afternoons, holidays or quiet campsite days, it is the sort of screen-free activity that can come out again and again rather than being finished in one sitting.
