High voltage batteries move the same energy at a fraction of the current, so you lose less as heat and the cable runs are easier.
The transfer switch is already inside the inverter, so there is no separate change over box to buy or wire in.
Handles an uneven load across the three phases, which is what real sites actually look like.
A low voltage system runs the battery at around 48V, so moving serious power means moving serious current, and that means heavy cable and more energy lost as heat. A high voltage battery does the same work at anywhere from 160V to 700V, so the current stays low.
The practical result is a tidier, more efficient installation at larger sizes. It is the usual choice once you get past about 10kW, and it is why this inverter only charges at 37A while still moving 12,000W.
Output is 17.4A per phase at 230/400V, and the inverter will carry up to 25A on a single phase when the load is uneven. That matters on real sites, where one leg usually ends up running the workshop or the air conditioning while the other two sit lighter.
There is also a 80A smart load output and a generator input, so you can shed or prioritise a specific circuit rather than treating the whole site as one block.
An automatic transfer switch is built in. When it sees the grid fail it moves your backed up circuits across to the battery, so the site keeps running rather than dropping out and coming back.
The changeover takes about 4 milliseconds, which is fast enough that sensitive equipment does not notice it. A generator can also be wired in and used to charge the battery, which is worth having on rural sites where an outage can run for days.
The inverter can AC couple to micro inverters or an existing grid tied solar system, at up to 17.4A. A second array can sit well away from the inverter, on a shed or a second roof, without long DC cable runs back.
Clean Energy Council approved and built to AS/NZS 4777.2, so it can be signed off by your installer and counted toward government incentive schemes. IP65 rated, so it can be mounted outside without a weather box over it.
To hold your exports under your network's limit and run the property from solar and battery first, the inverter has to see how much power is coming in from the grid and going back out. It takes that reading where the grid enters your switchboard. There are two ways to do it, and they do the same job.
Without the meter: three current clamps (CTs), one for each phase, come in the box with the inverter. Your electrician fits them around the incoming grid cables in your switchboard and runs the leads back to the inverter. This suits most installs where the switchboard is close to the inverter.
With the smart meter: this adds an Eastron energy meter that mounts in your switchboard and takes the reading instead, sending it to the inverter over a data cable. It is the usual choice when your switchboard is a long way from the inverter, so a clamp lead would have to run a long distance. Deye's own guidance on its larger three phase models is to use a meter once that run passes about 10 metres.
Not sure which suits your site? Ask your installer where the inverter and switchboard will sit before you order.
High voltage storage. Works with 160V to 700V lithium battery stacks, which keeps current and cable losses down at larger system sizes.
True three phase output. 12,000W across three phases at 230/400V, with up to 25A available on one phase when the load is uneven.
Built in backup switching. The automatic transfer switch moves the site onto battery power in about 4 milliseconds when the grid fails.
Smart load output. A dedicated 80A output lets you run or shed a specific circuit based on how much power is available.
Two solar inputs. Dual MPPT tracking across a wide 150V to 850V window, taking up to 18,000W of panels.
Generator ready. Accepts a generator as a second input and will use it to charge the battery during a long outage.
Scales to 16 units. Run up to sixteen inverters in parallel, on grid or off grid, for commercial and developer sites.
Rated for outdoors. IP65 sealed, so it can go on an external wall without extra weatherproofing.
This is a high voltage inverter. It needs a 160V to 700V lithium battery stack and will not work with the 48V modules used by the low voltage Deye range, so check what you have or are planning before ordering. Your site also needs a three phase supply, and installation and grid connection must be done by an SAA accredited installer. Not sure which side of the low voltage or high voltage line your project sits on? Give us a call and we will work it through with you.
