Description from Alternative Brewing

Designed for serious home roasters, sample roasting and small boutique coffee operations, the Orbiter OB1-Pro Coffee Roaster brings professional roasting capability into a compact electric format. With a batch capacity of up to 1.2kg and precise digital control, it allows coffee enthusiasts and small-scale roasters to develop roast profiles with consistency while maintaining full visibility and control throughout the roasting process.

Precision Roasting Control

At the heart of the Orbiter OB1-Pro Coffee Roaster is a hybrid drum roasting system that combines indirect electric heating with hot-air circulation. This balanced roasting approach distributes heat evenly through the beans, supporting consistent development and helping bring out layered flavour and aroma during roasting. Adjustable firepower, airflow and drum speed allow the user to fine-tune each stage of the roast for different coffee styles and flavour outcomes.

App-Connected Smart Roasting

Roasting can be controlled directly through a Bluetooth-connected mobile app, giving access to full-automatic, semi-automatic, or manual roasting modes. Profiles can be created, saved and repeated, making it easier to reproduce successful roasts or experiment with new approaches. Real-time monitoring combined with stored roast data helps maintain consistency between batches while allowing detailed exploration of roast curves and bean behaviour.

Practical Design For Small Roasteries

A full-view sight glass and integrated sampler make it easy to monitor colour and development during roasting, while a built-in chaff collector and cooling system simplify workflow between batches. The 35kg build keeps the Orbiter OB1-Pro Coffee Roaster stable during roasting while still remaining manageable for smaller roasting spaces, making it suitable for home roasting setups, coffee labs or boutique micro-roasteries.
