Description from OZRC

The RadioMaster R86C V2 is a compact 2.4GHz RC receiver offering six conventional PWM channels or up to eight channels through SBUS, with D8, D16 and S-FHSS protocol compatibility for suitable Multi-Protocol Module radio systems.

Features

  • 6-Channel PWM Output: Six individual PWM connections allow conventional servos, ESCs and other compatible RC equipment to connect directly to the receiver
  • 8-Channel SBUS Output: Provides up to eight channels through a single SBUS connection for compatible flight controllers and electronic systems
  • Multi-Protocol Compatibility: Supports D8, D16 and Futaba S-FHSS-compatible signal formats
  • 2.4GHz Operation: Uses the 2400–2483.5MHz frequency range
  • Long-Range Specification: RadioMaster quotes a control range of more than 1km under suitable operating conditions
  • Flexible Input Voltage: Supports 4.5–8.4V when using PWM outputs
  • Compact Design: Measures approximately 45 x 21.2 x 12.7mm and weighs only 8g
  • 150mm Antenna: Integrated antenna provides flexible installation in aircraft and other RC models
  • V2 Receiver Platform: Updated member of RadioMaster's R-series Multi-Protocol receiver range

FAQ

Will the R86C V2 work with a RadioMaster TX12 MKII? It will work with a TX12 MKII equipped with a compatible Multi-Protocol Module that can transmit the supported D8, D16 or S-FHSS protocols. A TX12 MKII configured only with an internal ExpressLRS module will not bind directly to this receiver unless a suitable external Multi-Protocol Module is added.

Does the R86C V2 work with FrSky transmitters? RadioMaster specifically states that the R86C V2 does not support FrSky-brand transmitters despite using D8 and D16-compatible signal formats. It is intended for compatible Multi-Protocol Module radios.

Is the R86C V2 compatible with Futaba S-FHSS? RadioMaster lists S-FHSS as a supported signal format. Check that the transmitter or Multi-Protocol Module can operate using the required S-FHSS protocol before binding.

What is the difference between PWM and SBUS on this receiver? PWM provides six separate physical servo outputs, while SBUS carries up to eight channels through a single signal connection to compatible equipment such as a flight controller.

Can I power the receiver at 8.4V when using SBUS? No. RadioMaster specifies 4.5–8.4V for normal PWM operation but limits the input to 4.5–6.6V when using SBUS.

Is the quoted 1km range guaranteed? No. RadioMaster specifies more than 1km under suitable conditions, but actual range depends on transmitter power, antenna orientation, RF interference, installation and the operating environment. A range check should be performed before use.

Important Notes

  • The R86C V2 is intended for compatible Multi-Protocol Module radio systems and is not an ExpressLRS receiver
  • TX12 MKII transmitters are available in different RF configurations; confirm that the radio has a compatible Multi-Protocol Module before ordering
  • Do not exceed 6.6V receiver input when using the SBUS connection
  • RadioMaster states that this receiver does not support FrSky-brand transmitters
  • FCC and LBT regional versions are available; use the appropriate receiver and transmitter configuration for the operating region
  • Perform a radio range check and verify failsafe operation before flying or operating the model
