Why does the paint appear transparent? Red Pearl is a translucent pearl paint designed to be backed with a solid colour. Apply several light coats until an even finish is achieved before applying the backing colour.
Which backing colour should I use? Black creates a deep, dramatic pearl finish, while White produces a bright, classic pearl appearance. You can also experiment with other backing colours to create unique custom effects.
Can I combine this with other Pearl colours? Yes. Red Pearl can be layered with other Spaz Stix Pearl paints to create distinctive multi-tone highlights and custom finishes.
Do I need to thin this paint before airbrushing? No. The paint is supplied pre-thinned and is ready to pour directly into your airbrush.
Important Notes
- Red Pearl is translucent and requires several light, even coats to achieve the best finish.
- For the deepest effect, back with Black. For a classic pearl appearance, back with White.
- Pearl paints can be layered together to create unique multi-colour pearl effects.
- For polycarbonate RC bodies, apply the paint to the inside of the body before applying the backing colour.
- For external applications, apply the backing colour first, followed by the Pearl paint, then protect the finish with a compatible clear coat such as Spaz Stix SZX90109.
